On my recent trip to Israel, I had the pleasure of meeting Snoopy the Goon who took me to the stalactite cave near Bet Shemesh. This week he hosts the latest edition of Haveil Havalim. Thanks for the link and the kind word. Stalactite. Looked it up again. Will forget till tomorrow. There must be some mnemonic rule for distinguishing between stalactite and stalagmite, for crying out loud!

The stalagtite has to hold on tight so it won't fall? I don't think I made that one up. You can always make up a mnemonic also.
