Megan McArdle, who blogs at the Atlantic, gained some current notoriety for writing about the Fort Hood massacre "there is absolutely no political lesson to be learned from this." Now she writes a follow-up:
. . . I have since changed my mind. That's because there's growing evidence that the army and the CIA knew he was a crazy fanatic who wanted to get in touch with Al Qaeda. It sort of seems like someone could have done something about that."It sort of seems like someone could have done something about that"?? We need very badly to figure out why nobody did.

The far left and others who aren't even in the left such as anarchist libertarian blogger Glenn Greenwald just put up a column today on Salon.com suggesting that any attacks on any uniformed personnel is not, by definition, terrorism whereas any military response to that attack is. Therefore for example the plane that flew into the Pentagon is not terrorism but the US is a terrorist state. I'm pointing this out not because I've never heard lunatics before but because they are now almost in the mainstream.

Greenwald et al are basically on the terrorists' side. It's the only logical explanation for them believing Americans anywhere are legitimate targets (not to mention the other multiple targets throughout the world who piss these mofo's off)
