There has been an effort among a number academics, journalists and bloggers to respond to the Goldstone report. Spearheaded by Richard Landes of the Augean Stables and Second Draft, and joined by some prominent bloggers and others, aims to point out the false assumptions and faulty conclusions of the recently concluded report.
Why is this necessary? Read Meryl.
Look again at the quote above. The AP does not refute Netanyahu's statements that Hamas used human shields and hid within civilian areas. The AP does not refute Netanyahu's statement that Hamas was terrorizing Israel. Instead, the AP emphasizes that Richard Goldstone is Jewish, pro-Israel, and a respected judge from apartheid South Africa--and therefore, Israel is going to have a hard time "dismissing" the report. In other words, Goldstone is Jewish and pro-Israel, and therefore the report can't be biased.Posted by SoccerDad at October 13, 2009 6:12 AM
to actually think that a blogger sitting in front of a computer thousands of miles away has any real credibility over investigators who are trained at gathering infomation from a multiple of credible sources is laughable. maybe iran should take a good look at the israeli way of dealing with critcism and unleash the masters of spin .
israel did exactly what it said it would do in gaza. for not long before the gaza war, Gadi Eisenkot, the israeli army northern commander, defined his doctrine very carefully. "We will wield disproportionate power against every village from which shots are fired on Israel, and cause immense damage and destruction... This isn't a suggestion. This is a plan that has already been authorised."

Much more credibility than hamas terrorists who are making false claims against Israel. The idea that the allegations against the IDF come from credible sources is what's laughable.
BTW, I think disproportionate force SHOULD be used. That is how you fight wars. Unfortunately Israel does not use disproportionate force.
BTW, how come we haven't heard anything about this war and the use of disproportionate force by Yemen and saudi arabia? http://www2.debka.com/article.php?aid=1402
"The latest paroxysm of Yemen's five-year war with the rebel Houthis has left more than 2,000 dead in less than a month and up to 150,000 homeless. Yemeni government troops are battling around 15,000 Iranian-armed and trained Houthi rebels dug into the northern Sadaa mountains on the Saudi Arabian border. Saudi air force bombers are pounding the rebels and the Egyptian air force and navy are ferrying ammunition to the Yemen army with US encouragement and funding."
So when are we going to recieve a report about saudi and yemeni war crimes? There's no double standard being employed against Israel, is there? S, crawl back under that rock from which you emerged.
Posted by: Laura at October 13, 2009 11:55 AMGoldstone is Jewish, he is pro-Israel and he's a careful jurist. So that according to al-AP, trumps charges the report of his panel is biased against Israel. So what he writes must be the gospel truth.
Now we get it. Thank you MSM, for that much-needed revelation!
