Slapping the outstretched hand

Two recent observations from Barry Rubin stick out.

In regard to Prince Turki's recent up-ed in the NY Times, Rubin writes:

Note also--something else nobody is going to notice--that the op-ed insults the United States as it directly contradicts Obama's current initiative to get something from the Arab states to match an Israeli construction freeze.

And in regard to the latest maneuvering between Tehran and Washington he writes:

This means: By sending a five-page insulting letter the Iranian government has derailed the sanctions' project and will gain in prestige without any cost.

(emphases mine)

I thought that by showing greater respect to the Muslim world, President Obama was going to repair the damage done by the Bush administration to America's reputation in the region. Rather the outreach appears to be the equivalent of hanging a "Kick me" sign on America's posterior.

They didn't slap his outstretched hand - they spit in his face. But, Obama thinks it's only raining. Even a kick in the ass wouldn't wake up this amateur-hour looney-leftist jerk.

Is it slapping or actually biting?

And meanwhile the administration is granting more rights to terrorists captured in Afghanistan. Somehow he thinks this is going to make the muslims like us better, but the jihadists are laughing their asses off. Or perhaps he deliberately means to weaken America's defenses. Either this man is insane or a traitor.

why should the arabs offer anything at all ,except the 'land for peace' offer.
when saddan hussien annexed kuwait and was required by law to withdraw, as with israel and the occupied territories , he wasn't rewarded in any way if he withdrew.
as the arabs already know, there are one set of rules for israel and a completely different set of rules for the arab countries

"there are one set of rules for israel and a completely different set of rules for the arab countries"
.............................
Exactly, the arabs can slaughter and rape, stone and behead innocents with impunity, while Israel is not allowed to even kill hamas and hezbollah terrorists who are waging war against it.

BTW any Arab presence beyond the Arabian penninsula exists because the arabs conquered and stole other peoples lands, slaughtered the indigenous peoples and replaced their indegenous cultures and religions with arab muslim culture.

The Arabs and the Iranians see nothing wrong with treating the US with contempt. Weakness is not welcomed in the Middle East. It is not seen as a sign of one's goodwill but rather as a message the one being accommodating is a sucker to be taken advantage of. So the Muslim World has been giving the US exactly the treatment, that in their lights, it should expect. And so far the Obama Administration has raised no objection to it. So there will be no progress on either the peace or the nuclear fronts in the future.

I was a staunch supporter of Barrack Obama in the campaign days due to his message of change, but now I see that this guy is a complete weakling or a smart traitor.
