Council speak 07/15/09

The Council has spoken.

This week's winning council entry was The Provocateur's How Bonds Work (and How Current Policy Will Wreck Them and the Economy With It), an excellent primer about the bond market and a sobering warning how the administration's policies will adversely affect bonds. The runner up was Bookworm Room's The Declaration of Independence .... and chickens?, about why no July 4th barbecue is complete without chickens. I seem to remember that Benjamin Franklin thought that the wild turkey - not the bald eagle - should be the national bird!

On the non-council side, the winning entry was Reclusive Leftist's Feminists And The Mystery Of Sarah Palin. The runner up was my nominee, The Middle East is a place where wishful thinking gets people killed but makes careers for politicians, diplomats, academics, and journalists at Rubin Reports.

Please take a look at the most recent National Journal bloggers polls - here and here, in which members of the Watcher's Council participated.

Congratulations to all the winners!
