This week's Watcher's Council nominations are up.

Wade Rathke's Management Council - The Provocateur continues his investigation of ACORN. Everything, I assume, is public record and yet the media remains largely incurious about this group with one time ties to President Obama. And Mike's final observation is pretty devastating too.

Race Carding Sotomayor - Joshuapundit argues that the best approach to Sotomayor confirmation hearing is for Republicans to expose her views on identity politics, so the nation understands how the administration views on these matters. Given Frank Ricci's story and some recent polling numbers, this seems like a reasonable strategy.

Progressives Aren't Liberals - The Glittering Eye observes that those who know better than the rest of us don't really want to be bothered with debate.

Sonia Sotomayor: Free Speech Douchebag - Rhymes With Right recalls a case where Judge Sotomayor ruled against freer speech. It was sort of surprising to read this, because, in general, the judge's reputation has been pretty strong in the area of free speech. I wonder why she ruled differently here.

Yet another reason why the News Journal is sinking - The Colossus of Rhodey

Murderer or Martyr -- the George Tiller killer - Bookworm Room examines the motives of Scott Roeder for killing Dr. Tiller.

Know The Enemy and Destroy Him - Right Truth asks why the same scrutiny and outrage wasn't applied to Carlos Bledsoe.

A Bit Of Honesty From Speaker Pelosi - Wolf Howling appreciates the Speaker's candor. I suspect it didn't even bother her to consider the implications of what she said.

Abbas: Olmert Offered Us The West Bank And The Right Of Return, But It Wasn't Good Enough - Mere Rhetoric looks at the latest adventures of Israel's passive-aggressive "peace partner" and how the President seeks to help him out. (I think his last sentence is facetious.)

Where hugo's huge - I wrote about where Gen. Chavez is really popular.

My non-council submission this week was a cartoon. It was Amusement Park by Day by Day's Chris Muir. I see I wasn't the only one to submit it; Bookworm Room did too!
