Council speak 05/25/09

The latest Watcher's Council results are up at Less common sense than an amoeba.

On the council side JoshuaPundit's Land For Peace American Style was the winning entry. The title is reminiscent of a classic Dry Bones Cartoon, that has now been updated. (While you're at it, you might want to try your hand at the State of Palestine quiz.) The runner up was Wolf Howling's Candidate Obama versus President Obama In The War On Terror, which shows how President Obama has reverted to the Bush administration's view of many elements of the War on Terror after piously campaigning against them. In his rundown of the posts this week, The Glittering Eye wrote about this post:

The only exception I'd take with GW is that he seems to see it as a bad thing.

I think that GW, wasn't saying that it was a bad thing that that President Obama has adopted a more sensible course of action, as much as criticizing him for his past condemnations of former President Bush. For more on this, see the most recent Charles Krauthammer column.

On the non-council side, my nominee, The New Old War against the Jews at Seraphic Secret was the winning selection. The Runners up were Sol Stern's were Pedagogy of the Oppressor and Anne Bayefsky's Obama's U.N. mistake.
