The Obama administration one week into office, through an executive order, provided 20.3 million dollars to assist Gaza residents in relocation/humanitarian projects. Not much later, Secretary of State Clinton pledged 900 million dollars to rebuild Gaza. Both actions are inexcusable. Until terrorist organizations are defeated,accept the right of Israel to exist, and stop raining death upon Israel's citizens with rocket attacks, no US funds should go there. Maybe the populace will finally arise, and oust the perpetrators of violence.

I think what you are seeing is part of the slow but inevitable process of reconciliation between the Palestinians and Israel, if Israel decides that it prefers peace to endless hostilities. Hamas was democratically elected by the people of Gaza because they felt that the Fatah leaders were corrupt and no longer supported the people, instead being content selling the Palestinians out to Israel and enjoying the blood money while the people live in abject poverty. Hamas pledged armed resistance to the occupation instead of spineless capitulation and the people responded. If Hamas said that they would no longer use violence and now respect Israel's right to exist, the people would quickly switch to support of the [Insert random arabic here] Brigades or Liberation Army. By saying that they are willing to accept peace, even with a limit, according to the moderate Arab plan (which I personally think the Israelis are utterly stupid for not backing immediately), Hamas is opening the door to a unified Palestinian government and ultimately to a just and lasting peace. Hamas is no different than the Israeli extremists who believe that they are entitled to all of the occupied territories. Israelis who refuse to recognize the Palestinians' right to self-governance as a sovereign nation side by side with Israel are excused from demands to be reasonable, but Palestinians who refuse to recognize the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign nation, side by side with Palestine are labeled as anti-semites and "terrorists." (Don't get me started on Israel's horrid abuse of that word to justify their unjust occupation and genocide.) Btw - all jews in Israel are not all jews in the Middle East. Contrary to what Israelis might like to think, there is a whole lot of land that is part of the Middle East and does not belong to Israel. Once again, anti-zionist and anti-semite are not the same. There is no great threat in Europe and America to the continued existence of jews which is not tied directly to the unjust aggression of Israel. The only time that "anti-semitic attacks" happen with any frequency at all is when Israel wages a horribly asymmetrical campaign of genocide against its neighbors or the occupied territories. If you look back through history, the PA never existed until after ww2. The majority of Palestinians live in Jordan today. Give them a week to leave, then clean that area out for the Jews. However, Israel has no right to practice Apartheid, to drive out the Palestinians who were living in the area in 1948 (The Nakba), or to carry out any war crimes - just as no other human beings has any right to carry out similar crimes/atrocities.
