At 1:15 AM this morning she turned 139 weeks old!
Verbally she continues to develop amazingly. Yesterday after I read her "Brown Bear, Brown Bear," she "read" it to me. She knows quite a bit of the alphabet and can count up to twelve. (She understands the quantity three now; not just two.) She even knew the "Mah Nishtanah." And she's finally identifying colors.
She continues to get more self confident. She goes to the pantry and takes whatever treats she can reach. (We have to put them on higher shelves. Of course that won't stop her from pulling a chair over and climbing to get what she wants.)
She likes to talk on the phone often asking to call her grandparents. Yesterday, she made "phone calls" (on a non-operational cell phone) to her grandparents and her four year old cousin and had "conversations" with them.
Most things she enjoys, I've written about before. If there's been a big change it's how much she seems less like a baby than a little girl these days. No she's not trained and she still cries when things don't go her way. But her mannerisms are more deliberate. Even how she looks in clothes is more of a little girl look than a baby.
Still she often asks to be picked up. (When she's upstairs and wants to go down, but wants me to carry her, she'll say "Hold me."
I suppose there are things that I've forgotten. Maybe there will be one or two more observations over the next couple of days.
