The Council has spoken.

The winning entry was My Grandfather, the 14th Amendment, and the AIG Bonuses by The Provocateur, which put last week's new in a historical and personal context. Runners up were, Bookworm Room's Out of the Mouths of Babes a discussion about the nature of evil and Right Truth's Grim Assessment for America's Safety.

In the non-council section the winning entry was The Great Dictator by council alum Big Lizards. The runner up was Robert Avrech's The burning of Los Angeles: The Gauntlet, which describes his family's escape from rioters. For the whole story check out part I and part II.

Congatulations to all the winners.
