It takes two ...

Those of you who have been reading Soccer Dad for awhile, know that I'm a member of the Watcher's Council. We are a group of twelve bloggers who submit two posts every week for the consideration of the council and vote on the best. There is a thirteenth member himself, the Watcher who presides over the proceedings and is available to cast tie breaking votes.

Here are the other council members:
The Provocateur is Mike Volpe from Chicago. Mike specializes in posts about the financial crisis; he also has given us an in-depth look at ACORN that you couldn't find in the MSM.

JoshuaPundit is from California. His main focus is the global war on terror and the fight against Islamism around the world.

The Glittering Eye also hails from Chicago and his interest is the global economy. One of his most memorable posts was his anticipation of the tainted pet food story that made it into the news about two weeks after he wrote about the possiblity.

Right Truth is making the world safe for conservatism one post at a time.

Bookworm Room is a cultural critic. She is that most endangered of minorities: a Republican from Marin County Califrornia.

The Colossus of Rhodey - .is also from Delaware and while he spends most of his time tweaking political correctness, sometimes his most effective posts are the ones in which he writes about his personal experience.

Mere Rhetoric sets his sights on the hypocrisy of Israel's detractors and raises the alarm about the Islamization of Europe. (Specifically Britain.)

Rhymes with Right blogs about the state of the Republican party in the Houston area and, like Colossus of Rhodey he fights PC.

And if you read Soccer Dad you know that my focus is on media bias especially regarding Israel.

That's the council in a nutshell - and if any of my colleague feel I haven't characterized them properly, I'll take complaints. If you're a blogger and you have an hour or two a week to read about 24 posts and vote on them. If you would enjoy our company. If you want to get perspectives on the news that you won't get in your local newspaper. We're looking for two good bloggers to join the council

We've been down one blogger for a while now. But Cheat-Seeking Missiles just announced that he was retiring from the council.

Other than reading and voting on the winners, what do council members have to do? 1) They must keep a blogrooll of the current council members on their blog. They also must post the winners of the both the council and non-council posts. See the complete rules here.
