At 1:15 AM this morning she turned 131 weeks old!
It's hard to believe that she's been with us for 2 1/2 years. Her speech and independence keep on progressing.
She loves talking on the phone. Though she's not necessarily familiar with the finer points of phone etiquette, she's not easily discouraged. Last week after talking to my mother, she closed the cell phone and said, "I turned off Savta."
She likes to try to dress herself. If you try to dress her and she thinks she ought to be doing it, she'll exclaim "my turn!" Usually that means getting dressed will take twice or three times as long. She can get pants and socks on. Shirts are a bit trickier.
Now that she's tall enough, she likes to climb into the bathtub herself. I prefer to hold her.
When she goes to bed there are no end to the rituals. But my favorite is when she's lying back on her crocheted blanket and says "cubber me." (Lately she's been saying "Cover me," more clearly.) And we have to cover her with her "bear" blanket.
I have a game I play with her older brother and sister, where I lie down on their beds and say, "oh the bed's so lumpy." Now before she goes to bed I need to do "lumpy" before she'll let me go. (I don't lie down on the crib, I just hug her and say "oh the crib's so lumpy." That seems to satisfy her.
I didn't mention it last month, but her curls are gone. Morning hair combings had become increasingly contentious. She still doesn't like to get her hair combed, but it takes less time now and with fewer knots.
