Clinton Asks Israel to Help Palestinians Seek 'Viable' Failed State

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton expressed sympathy today for Israel's need to respond to the new "fortification-buster" grad rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, while urging Israeli officials to help the Palestinians better foster the culture of resistance.

Israel should help its "marginally non-genocidal" Palestinian partners "strengthen their capacity to loot the Palestinian people and move toward a viable failed state," Clinton told reporters in Egypt today after a money-raising conference for Iran-annexed Gaza.

Clinton said she is "troubled" by the continued rocket attacks from the coastal proto-Caliphate, which is ruled by the Ezzedeen Al-Qassam Brigades, rivals of the U.S.-backed Al-Aqsa Martyrs brigades in the West Bank. Hamas, a Khomeinist-funded martyrdom-fetish, is destined to liquidate the hated Zionist entity according to the U.S. and the EU.

The division among the Palestinians is one of the problems standing in the way of the vigilance against World Arrogance plots that Clinton's trip is meant to promote. She travels next to the Zionist entity.

Clinton, wearing a fashionable keffiyeh-pattern hijab, sought to assure the conference that President Barack Obama will pursue a peace deal between Israel and the Ummah with "vigor and intensity." Citing the appointment of a special envoy for Middle East peace, Matthew Yglesias, Clinton also pledged $900 million in aid for the Palestinians to lard the kleptocracy of Mahmoud Abbas.

This is going to take some real skill on the part of Israeli leadership to get a 'favorable' outcome with this administration. I pray they are up to it.

Posted by: Kae Gregory at March 3, 2009 2:49 PM

what does 'a viable failed state' mean.
when i see the word 'viable' i know its a recipe for failure.
israel need not worry. its all showmanship to give the US some creditbility with the moderate arabs after the disasterous bush administration.they will say we tried diplomacy and it failed so its back to the'might is right' policy and bomb the radical elements.

Boycott Israeli products.Stop the war crimes. Arrest all military/political leadership responsible for the Gaza Concentration camp atrocities. Clinton can do nothing-she is a puppet of AIPAC.

there will never be peace in the middle east...isreal continues to build on occupied territory and the palestinians send rockets into isreal....and the "stupid americans" will pay 900 million to rebuild what isreal destroyed..it never ends....i'am sick of hearing about efforts regarding a peace accord....not in my life time!

Posted by: jim at March 4, 2009 4:56 AM

Why she didn't visit Palestine? She should be wise and fair enough for both sides .. Visiting only Israel will do nothing for the peace efforts unless she and the others so called peace makers also visit Palestine ..

Posted by: meisme at March 4, 2009 5:06 AM

Why didn't she visit Palestine? I guess since there is no Palestine, she couldn't find it on the map!

I see that sass invited some friends to invade Soccerdad. Like we wouldn't notice this was a coordinated effort. Just a bunch of people who happened to coincidentally come upon this site on the same day and post.

There never was and hopefully never will be a "Palestine" nation, AF.

rick, why not call for a boycott of all the oppressive muslims states which regularly violate human rights on a massive scale? Why pick out the only country in the region which is a free stable democracy as a target for boycotts?

Sass and friends are the subject of a new book by Dr. Jamie Glazov called "United in hate: The left's romance with tyranny and terror"

"Dr. Jamie Glazov says there's an unholy alliance between jihadists and people like Michael Moore, Sean Penn, Ted Turner and Noam Chomsky.

It is difficult for rational people who value personal freedom to understand the motivation of those who live in comfort and yet embrace monstrous dictators, ideologies, and policies that leave only death and destruction in their wake.

In United in Hate, Glazov presents startling new insights into the toxic beliefs and torturously contorted thought processes of the leftists who lust to destroy the very freedoms that allow them to exist".

laura, i do not need to invite anyone to bombard soccerdad. what you fail to realise ,there has been a turning point in this digital[information] age. now people are or getting truely informed about what zionism is truely about, without relying on the main stream media. that old saying 'history is written by the winners' has no meaning today. the propoganda war which the ,zionist clearly won for the last 60 years , is slowly turning to the arabs favour. the recent genocide in gaza is a good example with israel saying they were following international law when clearly they were not with images of phosourous and dead children circulating even though israel did its best to keep the media blind and not give them access to gaza.in other words puublic opinion is favoring the arabs and now i see you as parnoid as ever with plots everywhere against the peaceful zionist. can you imagine what it will be like for the zionist in the future in regards of world opinion. the clock is ticking and zionism is weakening with every second as the people of the world will soon demand action against israel, forcing governments to act.tick tock.

Actually the American people, the only ones who count, the only ones with a moral compass, are MORE on the side of Israel then ever. The rest of the world, dependent on arab oil and frightened of muslim terrorists, naturally takes the side of the far numerous arab-muslims against Israel. So world opinion on this issue is not based on who is right and wrong, but on which side is more powerful. And that would be the 1 billion aggressive muslims, along with their billions in petro dollars vs the 6 million Jews of Israel without a natural resource the world depends upon. Is it such a surprise which side most of the world takes? Luckily at least the Israelis have brain power. BTW, the mainstream western media is very much anti-Israel.

Posted by: Laura at March 4, 2009 8:04 PM

is that the jewish americans that count. israel had it good for 60 years and now the truth be told everyone must be anti israel or anti semetic.what a racist world we live in.those who do not support the ethnic cleansing of arabs, oppression, the stealing of a nation must be racist anti semetics and the ones which support genocide and stealing a country surely do have a moral compass?????.
good to see that you believe in 'right is might'as israel has the forth largest miltary in the world, totally suported by the only superpower.
what the rest of the world asks, is one simple question-why?.

Posted by: SASS at March 5, 2009 2:09 AM

israel has the forth largest miltary in the world

That's an urban legend.

sass you repeat the standard leftist tripe which has absolutely no basis in logic or reality. Ethnic cleansing of arabs? The arab population of Israel and the territories has increased over the years. Israeli Arabs comprise 20% of Israel's population. There are more arabs in Judea, Samaria and Gaza today then there were when Israel took control in 1967. How the hell does it constitute an ethnic cleansing when the arab population has increased substantially? Do you see the utter absurdity of your claim? Now once again I ask you how many Jews are left in Arab countries? A miniscule number. So any rational person can see which side is really guilty of ethnic cleansing. And that would be the Arabs who are guilty of ethnically cleansing Jews. This is blatantly obvious to anyone who isn't either a muslim or a deranged left-winger.

Posted by: Laura at March 5, 2009 12:47 PM

the jews ehnic cleansed the arabs in palestine in a operation in 1948 called 'plan dalet' http://electronicintifada.net/bytopic/historicaldocuments/31.shtml .this caused over 800 000 arabs to become refugees and to remain as such. now that figure is in the millions.
isreal is building new illegal settlements on arab land while demolishing palestinian homes. palestine is getting smaller by the week.
if israel was never created the palestinian population would be at least 2-3 times as much.
zionism was the reason there are hardly no jews left in the arab countries. it was zionism which caused the arabs to turn on the jews because of the jewish violence[ethnic cleansing] against the palestinian.also the zionist scared the jews who were happy to stay in arab countries with bombs as was the case with the iraqi jew in which benguron termed 'cruel zionism' http://www.jewsnotzionists.org/jewsofiraq.htm

Benny Morris wrote in a letter to the Irish Times about a year ago:

The displacement of the 700,000 Arabs who became "refugees" - and I put the term in inverted commas, as two-thirds of them were displaced from one part of Palestine to another and not from their country (which is the usual definition of a refugee) - was not a "racist crime" (David Landy, January 24th) but the result of a national conflict and a war, with religious overtones, from the Muslim perspective, launched by the Arabs themselves.

There was no Zionist "plan" or blanket policy of evicting the Arab population, or of "ethnic cleansing". Plan Dalet (Plan D), of March 10th, 1948 (it is open and available for all to read in the IDF Archive and in various publications), was the master plan of the Haganah - the Jewish military force that became the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) - to counter the expected pan-Arab assault on the emergent Jewish state. That's what it explicitly states and that's what it was.

Note on the above: The paragraph beginning "There was no Zionist plan" is also Morris.

Posted by: Yitzchak Goodman at March 6, 2009 2:26 AM

you are wrong. there was a plan as stated by bengurion in his diary. rabin and begin have corrobarated it also. research dier yassin, nasr al-din, ain al- zietouneh,al-bina, al-bassa and safsaf; all palestinians villages where massacres happen designed to stampede the nation so as to make the future expanded state of israel predomently jewish.
how else was israel to become a jewish state. it had to force the majority of muslims and christians out. there was no other way, only if the future jrewish state wanted a majority of muslims. read the above link which is very detailed.
israel war of independance started on 15 may 1948. the massacres to palestinian started at least six months before.
