I previously blogged about Anne Bayefsky's reporting on the progress of the planning for Durban II. At the time I criticized Martin Peretz for being overly undestanding of the administration.
Now it appears that he's read Bayefsky and is discouraged. (via memeoarandum)
If this is what engagement with our adversaries means, our friends should be very wary. The president has not yet been heard from on these happenings. Nor for that matter has Ambassador Rice. I believe that many people are waiting.
He still attributes this to Susan Rice rather than the ideological underpinnings of the administration. But I'm glad his affinity for the President hasn't caused him to look away.
Mendel Ganchrow sees a trend.
We should not expect heavy public attacks on Israel, just subtle quiet changes-not for the good,
NJDC remains silent on the expected Freeman appointment and the Durban betrayal. But they are having a happy hour today. I guess they can have lots of fun mocking those of us who expressed skepticism of President Obama's commitment to Israel. However, if they're more interested in Israel than in promoting the Democratic party, perhaps they could read Peretz. It would be a start.
