Superbowl lists and more

Hmm a series of computer simulations figure that the Steelers will win. With Larry Fitzgerald as the MVP.

Real Clear Sports has a list of the worst teams to make it to the Super Bowl. Here's #10, the 2002 Oakland Raiders.

After the game, the Bucs' players said they knew all the signals and audibles the Raiders were calling - maybe that's why Oakland managed just two offensive scores, while Tampa Bay's defense racked up three touchdowns.

Wait a second. Before the season, Tampa Bay fired Tony Dungy and traded with Oakland for coach Jon Gruden. So does this mean that Oakland didn't change their signals when they got a new coach? That's incredibly stupid.

Fox has a slightly different arrangement of the 10 worst. And the best. Fox has lots of other lists including the top 10 Superbowl performances. And the 10 worst performances. Top 10 Superbowl controversies.

The best Superbowl ads are here. My favorite's still the Mean Joe Greene ad!

The NY Times has a background on the connections between the Cardinals and the Steelers. USA today has an article on the ascendancy of young coaches.

The WSJ's Daily Fix has great stuff. From last week the Pittsburgh Steelers' background post had the stories of Jared Retkofsky and Sean McHugh. The Kurt Warner story is great, but teams also have role players, whose time in the limelight is limited. These stories let you know about a couple of such players.

Why Larry Fitzgerald Sr. won't be rooting for his son.

Finally Rob Neyer has Football's all time Baseball team.

Enjoy the reading and the game.

UPDATE: How to make a football (h/t Instapundit.) Someone else who remembers that Bill Bidwill played games with Baltimore before moving his franchise to Arizona. Finally how do they know who will the Superbowl before the game is over so that they have all that merchandise ready to go when time runs out? They don't.

Nice roundup! I'm not a big football fan, but I do like good sports writing.
