Musical Monday #77

Two apologies. First of all, sorry that this is a day late. Also, I changed my theme at (actually the last minute) the last minute. So I probably missed a lot. Appropriate suggestions are welcome!

I hope to add solutions for 75 this evening.

1) ... every step I take reminds me of just how we used to be.
2) And afterwards we drop into a quiet little place, And have a drink or two
3) The mist is lifting slowly
4) And although my dream was overdue
5) I'd rather hurt you honestly
6) You got to lock it up and throw away the key
7) You can ride this road 'till dawn,
8) So glad you opened my door, come with me
9) You better learn it fast; you better learn it young,
10) It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
11) A real hurtin' song about a love that's gone wrong
12) Or looks my way, or calls my name,
13) Somewhere in her smile she knows
14) I hear them whisper, you won't believe it
15) At the end I take home my hard earned pay all on my own
16) When the garden flowers baby are dead yes
17) Something in your face that keeps me hanging around you
18) And the pain is thunder
19) But I've got to creep down the alley way,
20) You better take it easy 'cause the place is on fire
21) I got over you the day you left
22) I can't stand to see you sad, I can't bear to hear you cry
23) Now Sandy Kane is no longer here
24) At any time my little world seems blue
25) I don't need a big fine car.
26) There's a whole generation with a new explanation
UPDATES:
27) Snow is white and the ocean is blue
And let me know if you think that these two are fair.
28) Does your memory stray to a brighter sunny day
29) Beaten by the Queen of hearts every time.

B1) via TRN There's something special on my mind
B2) via Elie I had to call you up in the middle of the night
This bunch are from Clayton:

Boy I feel dumb. #1 seemed so familiar, but I just couldn't place it, so I gave in and googled the quote. Not only do I know the song, I once centered an entire blog post about it!

I think it's easier to compose these, than to be one of the guessers!

6 - If You Love Somebody Set Them Free - Sting

28.Are You Lonesome Tonight-Elvis Presley
B2.It's Just a Fantasy-Billy Joel

I noticed my clue for B12 was probably too vague. New clue:

"I live and breathe for you, but what good does it do"

Posted by: ral315 at January 23, 2009 2:33 AM

Thanks for the link! I didn't include it to avoid giving away the song, for those still guessing.

24) At any time my little world seems blue
25) "Some Kind of Wonderful" - Grand Funk Railroad

Hmm, but 24 is (also?) Some Kind of Wonderful.

I thought of a lot more songs that fit the category towards the end of the week. If anyone is still interested:

"Somehow, some day"

"But why do I always feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone" (or "That's the money you could be saving with Geico")

"'Cause everywhere my baby and me go"

"I'd like to add his initial to my monogram"

"Somewhere in my youth or childhood"

"Could it be? Yes, it could."

"When you find your true love"

"The world was my oyster, but where was the pearl?"

Posted by: trn at January 26, 2009 7:27 PM

"Somehow, some day" - Is this "Somewhere" from West Side Story?
