Two years ago on the last Sunday before the Labor Day weekend, we went to a park. It was the last time we were together as a family of just 7. We were blessed with the baby the next week.
It was also just before our oldest son (second oldest over all) started Yeshiva. Now we have two sons in Yeshiva. While I can say I'm proud of the way they've matured since entering 9th grade, the Yeshiva schedule is rigorous and it means that I see them a lot less than I'd like to.
This past Sunday we took a similar outing. Our oldest son was still away in camp, but the rest of us went to Centennial Park in Columbia Maryland.
Maybe Gloria Steinem knows.
(h/t my 14 year old who parsed the sign for me.)
We did some boating that afforded us some beautiful views over Centennial Lake.

This is a small island in middle of the lake.
Afterwards we played catch or played on the playground and then had a barbecue. It was a nice way to close out the all too short summer

No fishing
No bicycles
Anyway, the pictures are lovely, and it's nice to hear that you enjoyed the outing with your family. I have a friend who lives in Maryland and every time we visit, the Brooklyn Girl in me is astounded by all the "pretty nature".
