A Senator from a tiny state that is likely to vote Democratic anyway in November gets selected as the Vice-Presidential pick of the Democratic party. That's a storybook!
Whoops. No this is:
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man."
Spinning the gaffe as something positive at Hot Air and Colossus of Rhodey. Yes, I'm sure that George Allen would agree.
The quotable Joe Biden. (h/t my first stater blogging buddy Colossus of Rhodey.Hube.)
I'd have to agree that on the merits, this is a pretty good pick for Sen. Obama. But look out for possible gaffes.
When is it balance and when is it contradicting everything we believe in? Check out the links.
While I'm not above having fun when politics are involved, I'd note that Biden has had quite a bit of misfortune. He lost his first wife and a daughter in a car accident in 1972 and he himself suffered a near fatal aneurysm in 1988.

So the obama campaign, which villified the Clintons as racist on the basis of absurd reasoning, such as Bill Clinton using the term "fairy tale" to describe Obama's position on Iraq, doesn't have a problem with that condescending remark from Biden. That sounds a hell of a lot more racist than anything the Clintons were accused of during the primary. That is not to say I think Biden is at all racist, but you see the double standard.
