Council speak 08/01/08

While we the council awaits the new watcher, council members have volunteered to host the council competition. This week, Bookworm Room hosted and we thank her for hosting. She just posted the results.

My criticism of Nicholas Kristof, Hating Israel more than loving Palestinians was the winning entry this week. Thanks to my fellow council members for their support.

The runners up this week were JoshuaPundit who recounted the mis-steps of Sen. Obama abroad in "Ich Bin Ein Beginner!" and the hostess, Bookworm Room, herself for Nobody here but us biased chickens, a debunking of the LA Times's explanations for its unbalanced coverage of the two presidential campaigns.

On the non-council side, Investor Business Daily's Barack Obama's stealth socialism was the winner by tie-breaker. Jay Cost's On Obama's Message was the second place finisher.

Bookworm Room announces that the new Watcher will be (as voted on by the council) Terry Trippany of Webloggin and, now, newsbusters. We look forward to the new boss and working with him in the next few weeks.
