The Council has spoken.

The tie-breaking winner this week is Joshuapundit's excellent examination of the nature of Islamic extremism, The Chicken or the Egg? Wolf Howling's similarly themed (and excellent), analysis as it applied to a single country Dear Pakistan was one runner up.
Bookworm Room's For Once, It Really Is About the Children, the other runner-up, was on the (unintended negative) impact social policy can have on families.

On the non-council side, What Kind of War Crimes Trials Does Obama Plan? (Updated)
at the American Thinker won the voting. The runner up was an exhortation to Jews to Wake Up and Smell the Soup! by Melanie Phillips. Third place went to my submission - which covered some of the same ground as the essay by Melanie Phillips, Obama and Khalidi -- What We Know So Far by Daled Amos.
