21 months

At 1:15 AM this morning she turned 91 weeks old.

I don't think I've mentioned this, but she goes down steps very well. She'll flatten herself out and slide down. It occurred to me that our other children never got so comfortable doing that, as we didn't have carpeted stairs when they were babies.

I know this might qualify as too much information, but she sometimes will inform us when she needs a change. She'll bring us a diaper. There's usually a reason for it.

She sometimes goes to the pantry and helps herself to animal crackers or raisins. It's fun watching her contend with finding the bottom of door so she can open it. She's an advantage since she is close to the bottom of doors.

She's also figured out that if she reaches up she can turn the handles on our upstairs doors. Now we realize, we should have gone with knobs.

There are times where she seems to want more independence and wants to be put down so she can walk instead of being held. Though most nights when I come she greets me by running up to me with her arms extended and an "Abba!"

I should clarify that when she says "bottle" it sounds a bit more like "bottul" and "buckle" is more like "bogul."

Yesterday in Target, I had her in a shopping cart and she goes "bogul" finding one of the straps. So it was clear that she wanted to be buckled in. So I buckled her. After a while she started pulling at the strap and said "bogul," which I too to mean that she wanted to be unbuckled, so I obliged. This went on a few more times, until I decided that she was staying buckled the rest of the trip.

On Shabbos we went to friends who provide care to dogs until they're adopted. They had two puppies. She was, of course, fascinated with the puppies. But when someone put one on her skirt in front of her, she seemed a bit put off and she tried to back away. The puppy was fascinated with her and continued to move towards her.

Such a nice journal of your daughter's babyhood you've been writing. I'll bet she will be delighted to read it when she's older.
