Musical monday #37

Guess the lyrics (song and artist), guess the theme.
Every week Elie and I switch off. It's supposed to be Monday. Sigh.

1) Voices leaking from a sad cafe
2) Kickin' down the cobblestones
3) Sleeping in that old abandoned beach house getting wasted in the heat
4) Well maybe I did, maybe I didn't, Go and lose my job today
5) Light in your head and dead on your feet
6) Workin' so hard like a soldier, Can't afford a thing on TV
7) Running like a child from these warm stars
8) The wild and windy night
9) It's over, well over but then again it didn't have a good start
10) Hey! Think the time is right for a palace revolution
11) Between the store front shadows and the street lights glow
12) I remember standing on the corner at midnight
13) every head he's had the pleasure to have known
14) Race barefoot back to Johnson's fence.
15) I'm not a present for your friends to open
16) He was brutally handsome
17) Alligator lizards in the air
18) Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
19) 'Cause I can play this here guitar
20) Singin' them straight to the heart songs.
21) I'm blushing brighter than a Valentine
22) Woah Woman, oh woman, don't treat me so mean,
23) The life I love is makin' music with my friends

Sorry for posting late again.
for most of the answers to 35, see below.

UPDATE: Payback time. Apparently I encroached on a theme that Elie was working on. So you all benefit from five more courtesy of Elie (or look in the comments):
24) "Your graduation gown lies in rags at their feet"
25) "From the coastline to the city all the little pretties raise their hands"
26) "I used to be among the crowd you're in with"
27) "She has robes and she has monkeys"
28) "Were gonna throw a little soul parade"
What do I mean payback time? Well his Angel and Devil challenge a few weeks ago, was something I had been working on. And finally two more that I had forgotten.
29) City traffic movin' way too slow
30) I want to take shelter from the poison rain

Here are the answers to Musical Monday #35. As Clayton figured out all songs were sung by teenagers. Thanks also to Fiery Spirited Zionist, JudeoPundit, Elie's Expositions and Rubicon3 for playing.
