Annapolis

Yourish.com presents an excellent overview of the post-Annapolis revisionism Annapolis: The spin is in. SimplyJews illustrates who's pulling the strings in Annapolis talks, peace deals and the deal breakers. Jewish Current Issues demonstrates Empty Presidential Rhetoric . Eternity Road shows the mistakes the United States is making in Francis W. Porretto - Eternity Road. Roger L. Simon observes the large implications of a small detail in Annapolis: Saudis without Ear Phones. In Context presents Dissecting Abbas posted at Actually I'd really rather not. But I think she meant his words. J O S H U A P U N D I T presents A Threesome In Annapolis. He dissects all three principals. Rubicon3 watched the Annapolis Opening Remarks and reports on her impressions. Daled Amos disagree with Daniel Pipes about The One Achievement of Annapolis...Isn't. I think that Pipes hedged his bet at the end of the article. Still I have no idea why he attributed such importance to the idea, since Olmert budged on it right away. Boker Tov Boulderpresents Surrounding Annapolis, Extreme Bias in Dhimmedia in which she scores Scott MacLeod of Time for his understatements. IRIS Blog notes an unsettling prediction Security Officials: Kassams in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem after Annapolis Political Mavens presents similar photographs Proudly Presiding over the Next Round of Violence. Somehow I don't find that reassuring. Israel Matzav presents Olmert: Without a 'Palestinian' reichlet, Israel will be an 'apartheid' state. For someone who's supposedly a consummate deal maker this has to be one of the stupidest things he could have said. Mere Rhetoric does what he does best by shoveling through the manure looking for the pony Annapolis As A Rosetta Stone For How Anti-Israel Bait And Switch Diplomacy Works. Alas there is no pony. My Right Word presents Did I Hear Some Whisper Goebbels? saying, "Peac Now's advert reminds Yisrael Medad unfortunately of Joseph Goebbels" Schvach - פני דל presents The Proof of the Pudding… that the main issue is not the Israeli occupation. Schvach - פני דל writes about the curiosity of having A Nation Whose Flag Bears the Sahada and a Scimitar at a peace conference. the Dry Bones Blog remembers summits past in Cooking Our Goose (1978). Daniel Pipes Weblog considers the dangers of President Bush being known as Mr. Palestine?. The constantly changing Ari's Blog (now Lion of Zion) presents Annapolis Peace Conference in Sefer Tehillim!. I would have chosen Chapter 120 of Tehillim (Psalms). BARBARA'S TCHATZKAHS presents two more arguments against Annapolis ACTING LIKE ITS FOR REAL and ONE OF THESE THINGS IS JUST LIKE THE OTHER. Judeopundit writes about one of the best op-eds of the week Ralph Peters: "No Lasting Peace". Return to contents

History

Though it doesn't have much to do with Annapolis, The Volokh Conspiracy.David Kopel writes perhaps the most important post of the week: UNRWA and Palestinian Suffering. Contentions presents the story of Asser Levy one of the first Jews in America. I'd say that this was the most enjoyable post of the week. Elder of Ziyon presents the news of the partitions planNovember 29, 1947. Seems that after 60 years, not much has changed. YID With LID makes the contrast explicitly in 60 Years Ago Today..the UN Created a Jewish State--60 Hours ago It's Destruction Began. Bookworm Room presents Neutrality and truth. What's that about "good men" doing "nothing?" Return to contents

Israel

Shiloh Musings illustrates Democracy in Action!. treppenwitz presents My cab ride to Beirut. Given the number of links I've seen to this, I wouldn't be surprised if you already read it. If you haven't then read it right now. Seraphic Secret presents Total War saying, "After years of cease-fires and ambiguous, no-surrender wars, it's time for Israel to try the one sure-fire option for peace that always works to pacify aggressive enemies—Total War." me-ander blogs about an outrage at the elections in Of all the nerve!. Living In My Own World shows her support for the teachers' strike in Children of Israel: I Was Proud of You Last Night. SimplyJews wonders about some other demonstrators who weren't appropriately dressed in It was freaking cold that day in Tel Aviv. Warning: one photograph is rather disturbing. One of the The Volokh Conspiracy's conspirators visits Israel and considersAirport Security in Israel:. Return to contents

Politics

YID With LID observes that the Jewish Week Misrepresents Save Jerusalem Efforts. This is, of course, typical of James D. Besser who doesn't just write for the NY Jewish Week, but whose editorials (he doesn't report as much as opine) are syndicated to nearly every Jewish American weekly. It's one of those things that I don't understand, rather than presenting news differently from the rest of the media, Jewish American weeklies (the Forward included) see the need to present things exactly the same way the Washington Post or NYT would. Given that, is it any wonder that American Jews are noticeably more liberal than most Americans. Yid with Lid is correct about Stewart Ain, though. I'm not a regular reader but he does stand out. Shiloh Musings looks at the Hope on the Right. Life in Israel considers Shmitta: The unusual 7th year Esrog. No it's not about Sukkot. Others might not call him an "esrog" but a "lemon." Yisrael Medad presents Misleading Headline posted at My Right Word, saying, "MyRightWord illustrates another item of media headline bias" NRO's Media Blog reports on the latest totalitarian impulse in the Middle East: Syria Blocks Facebook, .... Israeli Satire Laboratory reveals the real reason for the university strike World-Wide Anti-Israeli Efforts Slowing Down Due to Senior Lecturer's Strike. Those lecturers are such patriots! A Mother in Israel embarks on a well trod blogging path with her First ever caption contest. My entry: "I thought they wouldn't break after you boiled them." Return to contents

Heichal HaNegina presents Of Smoke and Beans posted at , saying, "Some very special anecdotes about a very special Rebbe..." A Simple Jew presents Guest Posting By Chabakuk Elisha - Another Kind of "Blood Libel". Cross-Currents asks that all important question How Secular?. How do we balance the holy with the secular? Rabbi without a cause presents My Bronfman idea: Restoring Peoplehood. My guess is that if he doesn't have Bronfman's money he's not going to get people to listen regardless of the merits of his case! Schvach Yid writes about The Way It Should Be posted at Schvach - פני דל when interacting with Chabad. Ari's Blog presents Thanksgiving Day in Jewish Practice. Ari's Blog presents Will the Real Rabbi Meir Baal Hanes Please Stand Up?. A Mother in Israel presents A Creative Solution for Unruly Teenagers. Letters of Thought does what he does best, mixing text with pictures A Trip To Montreal -With Surprisingly Few Pictures. Daled Amos presents Chesed Announcement-Kidney Needed. Return to contents
