The council has spoken. The winning council entry was Bookworm Room's A stunningly dishonest piece of advocacy writing about the Supreme Court in which she deconstructs Jeffrey Toobin's critique of the Roberts court for the New Yorker. Alas this trend of misconstruing the court's decision is only going to get worse. Witness today NYT editorial Resegregation Now!. (h/t Done with Mirrors). The runner up council entry was Cheat Seeking Missile's The most ridiculous story of the year (2) in which he deconstructs two experts on Iraq who declare the war already lost.
Proving that I'm a better editor than writer, my nominee for the non-council post, The Rupture by Seraphic Secret, an analysis of the Hamas takeover of Gaza was the winning entry. Runner up was Muslim Speaks at My Church, Calls Me “Naive.” Also “Tough.”
If you're not a member of the council but you wish to participate in the weekly fun, follow the instructions here.
