Musical monday 3

Here's the clues this week. Name the tune, guess the theme.
1) I live in hotels tear out the walls
2) And we proceeded to tear that hotel down
3) Back at the hotel, ... we got such a mess
4) all the same old cliches is that a woman or a man
5) Someone got excited, had to call the state militia
6) Johnny was a schoolboy When he heard his first Beatles song (could have included it last time!)
7) His leather jacket had chains that would jingle
8) I've got my poor old gray-haired Daddy Drivin' my limousine
9) they sit at the bar and put bread in my jaw
10) Crazy Larry sang the baritone
11) Heading down to Houston For a show on Saturday night
(Given everyone's record on country music, no one's going to get #11)

2) And we proceeded to tear that hotel down - We're an American Band (Grand Funk Railroad)

9) they sit at the bar and put bread in my jaw (should be JAR) - The Piano Man (Billy Joel)

This time I think I know 7.5 out of 11 - a passing grade!

Overall Theme: Life on the road/touring

1) Joe Walsh, "Life's Been Good"

2) Grand Funk Railroad, "We're An American Band"

3) Lynryd Skynryd, "What's Your Name"

4) Bob Seger, "Turn The Page"

5) CCR, I can hear Fogarty singing it but I can't think of the title!

6) Bad Company, "Shooting Star"

7) ?

8) ?

9) Billy Joel, "Piano Man". Your have a typo, "jaw" should be "jar"

10) Elvis Presley, "Jailhouse Rock"

11) ?

And here's one you can add:

12) "We've got country and western on the bus, R&B, we've got disco, 8-track and cassettes and stereo..."

4.Bob Seger-Turn the Page

6.Bad Company-Shooting Star

3.Lynyrd Skynyrd-What's your name little girl

8. Wanna buy five copies for my mother . . .

Posted by: Yitzchak Goodman at June 25, 2007 01:11 PM

I got here late, so all the easy ones have been solved. The theme appears to be songs about the life of a musician.

8. Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show - "Cover of the Rolling Stone"

Here are my contributions:

13. Perfect strangers call you by name
14. I got the powder but not the gun, I got the dog but not the bun
15. That decibel meter doesn't seem to be reading low

(Yes, it was Tim Curry who served Meatloaf for dinner, and the song was "I Do the Rock.")

7 - Into the Great Wide Open - Tom Petty!
