Council speak 06/22/2007 (x2)

This weeks' Watcher's Council results are in. The Council winner was JoshuaPundit's bleak assessment Gaza becomes Hamastan Part II - Clarity and opportunity. Needless to say, I'm sure he'll be disappointed with today's Krauthammer.
Muslim and Christian? In one body? by Cheat Seeking Missiles about the curious case of Rev. Ann Holmes Redding who believes herself to be both Christian and Muslim. The many contradictions of accepting two faiths are impossible to reconcile unless one (faith) is completely watered down as he so ably demonstrates.

And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this week's second runner up, Okie on the Lam's Happy Father's day to the 'Dragon Slayer', a wonderful memorial to his father.

Among the non-council posts the winner was Michael Yon's Be not Afraid. The runner up was Beware: Misleading Income Statistics Are Coming Your Way by Back Talk.

I don't normally call attention to my own post for no reason, but when the Glittering Eye ran down this week's entries he wrote

Last year I pronounced Ehud Olmert one of the few winners of last year’s Israel-Hezbollah war. I see no reason to revise that opinion at this point.
.
Indeed he did. At the time it was quite a bold prediction, going against the conventional wisdom of the time.

I didn't have a chance to give last week's results, because I was away last week.

The winning entry was Bookworm Room's Judging people by their friends and their enemies, her reflections on President Bush's popularity in the newly free countries of world as opposed to his unpopularity among those who take freedom for granted. The runner up was Right Wing Nuthouse's And the wall came a tum-bel-lin down his reflections on Reagan's famous "tear down this wall" speech.

Among non-council post Michael Yon's Death or Glory part II of IV was the winner. The runner up was Why the Pew Foundation's study of American Muslim's is dangerously incomplete.
