While James Baker, Brent Scowcroft and Ban Ki-Moon take the myopic view that solving the Israel-Arab conflict is key to resolving tensions in the region, it would pay to take a look at the statistics of the Islamic terrorist attacks committed during 2006, as recorded on the website of The Religion of Peace, which also gives a short description of the nature of the attack.
Based on the calculations based on those numbers (see chart below):
44 countries and territories--both within and without the Middle East--were attacked by Islamic terrorists: Afghanistan, Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Chad, Chechnya, Dagestan, Egypt, England, Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, India, Indonesia, Ingushetia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kabardino-Balkania, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mali, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian territory, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, USA, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
In all, there were 2,281 separate attacks--resulting in 15,235 deaths and 19,497 injuries.
If you don't take into account the fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, there were 1,102 attacks by Islamist terrorists in 42 countries around the world--resulting in 3,723 deaths and 6,069 injuries.
The numbers from Iraq in one year show the results of the continuing policy of the terrorists to concentrate on killing innocent Iraqis.
India suffered from 295 attacks, resulting in 704 deaths and 2024 injuries.
Pakistan suffered from 189 attacks, resulting in 619 deaths and 729 injuries.
Thailand suffered from 314 attacks, resulting in 407 deaths and 455 injures.
Compare that with Afghanistan, which in 2006 suffered from 228 attacks, resulting in 853 deaths and 1176 injuries--There were more attacks separately in India and Thailand than there were in Afghanistan. Whatever else you might try to derive from the numbers, the global jihad the world is currently facing is clearly more than a reaction to Israel--or the US, for that matter.
The numbers also remind us of the growing instability under the Palestinian Authority at the same time that the 'experts' rush to create a country for Palestinian Arabs that has never existed before. This, from the so-called realists.
Get Real.

Try to find something useful to care about. Think of your life and your family. Do you think that you do the good thing for yourself? I don't think so!
Actually, I find you are writing things came from hating Muslims because of THEY ARE MUSLIMS ONLY!!
I found fools just like around the globe. However, all of you wasting your time and money without knowing that Allah (subhanh wa tala)will judge you on the Judgement Day on what you did to those Muslims.
Salam to all Muslims around the globe.

Caring about the thousands of innocent people killed and injured is not something useful to care about?!
Don't you care about the murders of Muslims by Muslims in Iraq and around the world?
I imagine that how you think Allah will judge me on the Judgment Day pales in comparison with how he will judge Muslims who kill other Muslims--or how he will judge Muslims like you who sit on the sidelines and do nothing.
More than saying "Salam to all Muslims around the globe" is required.
Posted by: Daled Amos at January 8, 2007 2:34 PMmujahid, YOU are sucks.
Posted by: Laura at January 8, 2007 8:59 PMThis is great! Thank you for getting this out faster than the State Department could have. I feel stupid for not doing it myself. Doh!
Great work!
Posted by: Bruce Benz at January 8, 2007 9:19 PMDaled you are making the mistake of holding Mujahid to a moral standard that doesn't exist to him. Muslims can do anything and that's okay. Its only wrong when an infidel fights back. I don't think I can put it better than this guy did.
