Taking umbridge

Well the trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is out. The release date is still 8 months away, July 13, 2007.

Here's the Yahoo! site. And here's the official American site.

And here's the Harry Potter Automatic News Aggregator.

I don't find this trailer as exciting as I found the one for The Goblet of Fire. (Isn't eight months early for a trailer?)

In general, I really didn't like OoTP, but I am re-reading it now and trying to at least delve into it a bit more deeply. In any event, in the trailer, Harry seems more dark and angry (as he is in the book as well) but there are a few parts which look good to me. I love all the London footage. I also look forward to seeing Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange.

The HP movies have a history of unusually early planning. There was a placeholder for the HP-ATHBP (HP #6) movie on IMDB as soon as the title of that book was announced in December 2004!

On a related note, here's my not-quite-wild prediction/guess: JK Rowling will announce the title and publication date for HP #7 by mid-December. Said publication date will be either 7/7/07 or 7/31/07 (Harry's birthday).
