What the azazel?

Ben Bradlee's wife Sally Quinn describes Donald Rumsfeld as the administration's scapegoat.

One wishes that she'd at least done a little research before she wrote:

(The word for scapegoat in Hebrew means, literally, "into hell.")

The terms "La-azazel" in Hebrew is roughly the equivalent of "go to hell." And indeed, the rocky mountain that the "scapegoat" was thown down was called Azazel. But that's as close as it gets.
