This isn't the usual thing I comment on but Karr's defense attorney made a statement that really bugged me
Karr's Colorado public defender, Seth Temin, first disclosed that no charges would be filed and that a hearing scheduled for late Monday afternoon had been canceled."We're deeply distressed by the fact they took this man, dragged him back here from Bangkok, Thailand, with no forensic evidence confirming the allegations against him and no independent factors leading to a presumption that he did anything wrong," Temin said.
It isn't like the Boulder DA simply had her eyes on Carr to fulfill some vendetta. Carr confessed to the killing. The DA's office should have corroborated his whereabouts at the time of the murder (Mark Furman told Sean Hannity that that could have been done in a matter of days.) but if you don't want your client to get picked up for a crime he didn't commit, don't you think you should tell him not to confess rather than berating the DA?
