This week's Watcher's Council nominations are out:
The Sundries Shack demands the release of Fox News reporter Steve Centanni and his cameraman Olaf Wiig who were kidnapped in Lebanon nearly two weeks ago by parties unknown? The PA can't or won't do anything to rescue them. The lack of mention of the kidnapping in the MSM is one more sign of how reporters been intimidated by the thugs of the PA and associated terror gropus. Michelle Malkin has arranged a blogburst to bring this matter more attention. Lenny Ben David has a useful history of the Palestinian intimidation of the media. (Perhaps the best article on the topic is Kenneth Timmerman's How the PLO Terrorized Journalists in Beirut - link is to summary, full article available for pay.)
In a long and comprehensive post Right Wing Nuthouse calls for massive changes in the way the war in Iraq is run. He agrees that the war was the correct course of action. He says that the subsequent failures must be acknowledged and addressed for the war to be successful. The failures can no longer be attributed only to the charges of those afflicted with BDS.
Joshuapundit provides an annotated transcript of the Mike Wallace Ahmadinejad Interview.
Gates of Vienna marshals Mark Steyn and Yoram Hazony to show that Islamism exists as a threat to our current world order of Nation States.
The Education Wonks honor Dan Holden as "Knucklehead of the day." I think the ACLU may have earned credit for a supporting role.
Shrinkwrapped examines the "fame motive."
Done with mirrors criticizes those who hide behind politics.
AbbaGav scrutinizes the inscrutable wisdom of the French Foreign Minister. Ah to be young (maybe not), powerful (maybe not) and clueless. His logic is so unassailable, I've stopped brushing my teeth. (Not really, you don't have to stay 20 feet away.)
Socratic Rhythm method makes a reasonable suggestion for primary season 2008.
Rhymes with Right looks at how the Republican race to succeed Tom Delay shapes up.
The Glittering Eye looks into the current war against the PKK. (One difference between the PKK and the PLO, for example, is that Abdullah Ocalan rots in a Turkish prison; Yasser Arafat had a state funeral. Revolutionary chic that has glorified Palestinian terrorism hasn't been as noticeable when it comes to the PKK.)
