New looks etc.

Crossing the Rubicon2 as a new design and some important news.

She also links to a very good response to Walt/Mearsheimer by Sol Stern. As long as we're discussing Sol Stern he wrote an excellent article, Israel without Apology three years ago. (Fiamma Nirenstein wrote similarly themed article, How I became an unconcious fascist about the same time.)

The Counterterrorism Blog has joined forces with Bill Roggio and has a new site and new design. Can you believe it? There are actually those who demonstrate in favor of suicide bombings? Sick.

Perspectives of a Nomad lost his site last week. But got it back. And has a very nicely redesigned interface.

And there are two important posts about suicide terror. Daled Amos hits back at Robert Pape in Islamist terror is more than Academic. (The one thing that Pape has right, though, is that poverty is not a cause of terror.)

And Gina Cobb draws a distinction between terror and the response to terror. As AbbaGav notes (h/t)

While it might seem absurd that anyone should have to actually explain this, there is nevertheless a real moral myopia in the world, and the only cure is the kind of clarity Gina has provided.

In case you're interested, Gen Amos Yadlin, one of the twelve eight pilots who flew to Iraq in June 1981 wrote of the ethical dilemmas in fighting terrorism.

Anti Israel terror has succeeded for so long because so many are willing to say "While we don't approve of the methods, the cause is just" and excuse it. But perhaps the methods shouldn't be separated from the cause as Daniel Pipes argued in Arafat's Suicide Factory. (He quotes from a chilling article Arsenal of Believers that is also well worth reading.)

UPDATE: One last thing, last year a friend set up a Pesach Hotel blog, if you spent Pesach at one of these hotels please check it out and send him an e-mail with your (hopefully positive) experiences so he can post it!
