Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley must be smarting from the accusations that the police in Baltimore City are failing to report crimes and that this failure is responsible for the dramatic decrease in crime that O'Malley is taking credit for.
The Hedgehog Report tells us that the Baltimore City Council has approved an audit of the city's crime reporting.
At the end of the post he points to another story of the police refusing to take a report and blaming the victim. (Check the links at the end for related stories.)
The story is from WBAL TV's investigative "I-team". If Mayor O'Malley doesn't move to Annapolis next January, one of the reasons will be WBAL's I-team that has been looking into possible dirty tricks committed by O'Malley supporters and now Baltimore City's crime rate, and going where the newspapers refuse to go.
Maryland Conservatarian recalls Mayor O'Malley's priorities:
So, for those of you at home keeping score, here is an updated Mayor O’Malley’s Top Worry List:
- UAE port management company
- George Bush
- Al Qaeda
He also points out that it's not sporting of Mayor O'Malley to charge that calls for an audit Baltimore's crime reporting is a political move. Why it's something the mayor's done in the past!
Since it's no fun to team up on only one person, Pillage Idiot brought us his County Executive Duncan's Suha Moment
Dunton began to distinguish himself by criticizing the Bush administration. No surprise there. But he went on to say this: "We got to get some terrorists removed from the White House, that is what we are going to do, because that is where they are. They are denying us the drugs we are entitled to have so we can live a decent life." And, no, he wasn't suggesting that Bush had invited Al Qaeda to run the White House policy shop.So what did Duncan do? Did he denounce Dunton's inflammatory rhetoric or tell him to cut it out? Do snakes have elbows?
While others are taking their shots at Democrats, Monoblogue gives us a taste of what Maryland Republicans may have to look forward to.
