Not surprising really.
But consider Meryl Yourish's Hypocrisy, thy name is United Nations in which she notes
Saw this article in the news:Thirteen years after Bosnia filed the case with the International Court of Justice, its lawyers will lay out their lawsuit against Serbia and Montenegro - the successor state for the defunct Yugoslavia - charging it with a premeditated attempt to destroy Bosnia’s Muslim population, in whole or part.
“Not since the end of the Second World War and the revelations of the horrors of Nazi Germany’s ‘Final Solution’ has Europe witnessed the utter destruction of a people, for no other reason than they belong to a particular national ethnical, racial, and religious group as such,” said the lawsuit’s opening paragraph, drafted for the Bosnian government by American lawyer Francis A. Boyle.
… and my first thought was, “Gee, have we forgotten about Darfur already?”
Another way to look at it is that 13 years is an awfully long time to wait to see a claim adjucated. To get an advisory opinion of the court, it took from December 2003 to July 2004 to get an answer about the Israeli separation fence.
8 months, to decide that it was wrong for Jews to defend themselves if it meant inconveniencing Muslims. 13 years to hear a case about the killing of Muslims. So it would seem it isn't saving life that's a priority of the UN's court; just making sure that Jews don't save too many of their own.
And in case we needed a reminder a few weeks ago His excellency Kofi Annan was at it again demanding that Israel stop killing terrorists.
