Life-of-Rubin finds Larry King asking obnoxious questions of Donald Trump. And Donald Trump handling himself quite well:
KING: By the way, can you unequivocally say that race had nothing to do with this?TRUMP: Absolutely. Of course it didn't. Why would I have picked Randal if it did, Larry? You're just doing that because you want to get a couple of rating points yourself.
Meanwhile TV Guide has interviewed both Randal and Rebecca about their impressions. Randal reiterates his "apprentice not apprenti" belief, and it's certainly a legitimate point. (In an earlier Apprentice, Trump offered to pay for one of the contestants to go to college. But first he had to get approval from the other contestants. Giving an extra prize may dilute the winner's victory.) I was more bothered that in the finale Randal seemed a bit less than generous toward Rebecca. After watching the pre-final task professions of respect between the two, his verbal jabs at her at the final boardroom seemed rather spiteful.
Rebecca makes an interesting point about non-profits in her interview: getting people interested in non-profits is about developing a relationship. It's something I don't think she argued very well when facing news of the initial lack of responses to her event.
