The Muqata presents a truly alarming fact:
The CIA has reported that chocolate consumption per capita in Israel is among the lowest in the western world, totaling approximately 3 Kilograms (6.6 pounds) of chocolate per year.
He then goes on to relate all of the important health benefits of chocolate. ("Yes, I'd like lettuce and chocolate on that sandwich. Chocolate has all the nutrition of tomatoes and tastes much better") He even suggests that PM Sharon indulge in some chocolate to unclog those clogged arteries. But wait. Apparently others are giving PM Sharon bad advice.
Israelly Cool! quotes from the LA Times:
A day before his stroke, Sharon enjoyed a typical meal with a close circle of family and friends: hamburgers, steak in chimichurri sauce, lamb chops, shish kebab and an array of salads, the Maariv daily reported. For dessert, Sharon had chocolate cake -- and then more cake.
The implication here, is that the PM needs to cut down on his chocolate cake. Obviously such a course of action would reduce Israel's per-capita chocolate consumption even further. That can't be a good thing. :-)
