Next 'Apprentice' to Be Shot in Calif.
It seems a bit extreme. But maybe the Donald felt the need for fresh blood in the show.

OK, I'm slow this am - it took me two tries to get the joke!

My dad was once tripped up by a similar idiomatic confusion. He was on a business trip to India and mentioned to someone, in an offhand way, that his boss had been fired. The guy got very upset and kept saying "that's horrible! how can you be so calm about it? does this happen often?" etc. It took my dad a minute to realize what the guy had thought he meant, and that he should have used the non-US idiom "sacked"!
