CosmicX recently posted about the joys of doing someone a favor. I agree. But the other day, I had the pleasure of that favor being done for me.
I had gone shopping and as I approached my car a man pulled up and rolled down his window and explained that he had left me a note in my windshield telling me that I was leaking something from my car. The note read:
I think your vehicle is leaking brake fluid from lines near the left rear tire. I was behind you at the light at xxxxxx and xxx and spun tires in the puddle. Just thought that you should know.
Not only did he take the time to follow me and leave a note, he apparently waited around a bit to make sure that I got the note.
I was left with little choice to bring the car in yesterday. And I got a second pleasant surprise.
I thought the leak was not brake fluid, but possibly gas. And I told the mechanic my suspicion. When I called later to find out if they'd finished with the car, the mechanic told me that it looked like a connection had come undone the previous time his people had done an oil change. He couldn't prove that they had done it, but because the possibility existed that his station may have been responsible, he did not charge me for the repair.
It's nice to have such positive experiences.
