My esteemed colleague Biur Chametz, after tantalizing us with the possibility that DovBear is really 4 bloggers in his title: "J, P, E and D - meet Dov and Bear" disappoints in his scholarly paper by postulating that DovBear is really only 2 different people. This is disappointing because it is clear there is at least another persona who writes as DovBear. Yes, I have discovered the "P" of DovBear.
Al Gore was robbed in 2000:
"I don't doubt a number of those ballots of those votes that were cast for xx probably were intended for Vice President Gore," xxxxxxxx told CNN's "Larry King Live" Thursday night.
is P.
Krugman is now lying, as he so often does, totally misrepresenting what his own newspaper and the Miami Herald reported in 2001
Krugman isn't lying. He's very upfront about the Time's report on the 2000 election, and he says plainly that Bush would have won, according to three of the nine hypothetical ways of recounting the Florida votes. But the other six ways would have given the election to Gore.
Jews do not belong in Gaza
MR. xxxxxxxx: ...however, we do believe that Israel has got to give up the occupied territories in Gaza and the West Bank because this problem in the Middle East, which is caused there, is causing acts of terror, not only against you, but against us. It is making us hated in a part of the world where the United States was never before hated, was admired, if you will.
In every sense, the 20-odd towns in Gaza, and the 4 towns in Samaria, were sacrificed for the sake of this vision, a vision endorsed by the overwhelming majority of Israelis, a vision that offers security for Israelis, and self-determination for Palestenians.
Scalia should have been elevated to to Chief Justice.
When Roberts is confirmed, the constitutionalist bloc will still consist of, at best, only three justices: Scalia, Thomas and Roberts. And while Roberts is a man of brilliance, integrity, judicial temperament and wit, he is unscarred in public battle.
Unlike the man who should have been Bush's choice.
Antonin Scalia, with near 20 years' experience on the high court, has scar tissue aplenty, all of it acquired in battle for the philosophy and beliefs Bush claims to hold dear. He is the veteran warrior for constitutionalism and the intellectual heavyweight of the court. To pass over Scalia for Roberts is like passing over George Patton and giving command of the 3rd Army to a brilliant young staff officer from the Pentagon.
is P.
But what happens when the time comes for the big promotion? Bush hands it to an outsider. Someone please help me with the terminology. Is Bush choosing Roberts over Scalia for the top spot on the court a "poke in the eye" a "slap across the face" or "the finger?"
is DovBear.
The similarities in views between P and DovBear in assessing these three major issues are striking. P, if you have looked at my source material, you know now is Pat Buchanan.
I suppose you will ask how is it possible that DovBear is Pat Buchanan. Doesn't DovBear express nothing but contempt for Pat Buchanan? Didn't I read "Oh, do I hate Pat (sic)Buchanen"
Of course I had seen it, but remember we are assuming that DovBear has multiple authors and therefore, do not believe it to be of Divine origin. Thus it is plausible to assume that DovBear/P was engaging in a little misdirection. Clearly DovBear/P was concerned that the similarity of views between DovBear and Patrick Buchanan would eventually lead serious researchers to this secret identity. He didn't count on someone being clever enough to ignore the false leads and only involve himself with the real clues here.
Finally, it's worth considering the following question: Have Dov Bear and Patrick Buchanan every been seen in the same place? I think not. This conclusively proves the identity of the 3rd DovBear: DovBear/P.
