Connection to connectedness

In "Connectedness" Treppenwitz tells the story of a musician friend of his who received an award. The manslaughter conviction this week Edward Ray Killen brought this to mind because of the connection of his victims - Andrew Goodman, Mickey Schwerner and James Chaney - to the award. I had to check but there's another musical connection to the crime. The Simon and Garfunkel song "He was my brother."
