Around the web

Killing as entertainment - Secular Blasphemy tells us of "Beheading as entertainment in Swedish schools". Similarly, It's Almost Supernatural notes "Palestinian Justice". Common denominator? RoP.

Dahlan Watch - After the demise of chief terrorist Yasser Arafat, I started (and abandoned) a series called "Dahlan Watch" with the premise that this thug was going to be de-odorized and made into some sort of savior of the Palestinian Authority. He's mostly stayed below the radar, making it harder to document his mischief. Jewish Current Issues though, quotes from a recent comment of Dahlan's in "A Sad Story of Complicated Idiocy". Dahlan is threatening a third intifada. So does history repeat. Israel concedes territory. The Palestinians say: not enough, we're afraid we'll have no choice but resort to violence. The world says: Israel should be more forthcoming.

Settlers are people too - Crossing the Rubicon2 has excerpts from John Podhoretz on the upcoming disengagement in Gush Katif. I posted a quibble with Podhoretz at CTR2, but I also think that if you read the Podhoretz article you should read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5 of Datya Yitzchaki's "Settler's Journal" from the Jerusalem Post.

Is he paying attention? - Boker Tov Boulder warns about "George 'put not your faith in princes' Bush" who recently addressed a number of foreign students from "...Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, the West Bank and Gaza, and the Arab communities of Israel." As she points out these students are from "...those countries listed in the caption are places the State Department would have us avoid." The worst irony is that she notes the observation of former CIA analyst, Mark Sageman that of the perpetrators of major terror attacks against the United States whom he studied sixty three percent of them were college educated! I'm sure Lenin would approve of the irony.

She writes too - Showing that she is capable of much more than just making pretty fractal images, Not Quite Perfect tells a touching story of two of her students in "Amazing Talent."

I was happy to see that the National Review picked up on the Washington Post's disinterest in learning the true identity of MD4Bush.

Two last things for now.
1) For those who are interested in Haveil Havalim, would you like a mailing list? I'd put out mailings once or twice a week informing you of the next HH and saying where the current one could be found. I wouldn't use your e-mail addresses for anything else. Except if you're a blogger I might use your e-mail to ask you to host.
2) I've received the opportunity to invite 50 of my closest friends and relatives to g-mail accounts. As yet, I'm not sure how much I like gmail. If you're interested let me know.
In both cases above send the e-mail to dhgerstman at hotmail dot com or post a comment here.
