What if there's no day?

How does a Muslim keep the Ramadan fast on the solstice at the North Pole?Though he doesn't answer the question, I suspect that the reasoning applied by Shari'a would be similar to the Jewish way of analyzing the situation Halachically. Short answer: if in a place where day and night don't exist, use the times of the nearest settled area to time your observances. The long answer is here.
