Well the Gerstman family went to Great Falls this past Sunday. There were some spectacular views:
There was a trail that wasn't too difficult. Our 2 1/2 year old did just fine. (Her 5 1/2 year old brother wasn't as sturdy.) There were plenty of rocks for our children to climb and make us nervous. Very nice way to spend the day!
While there's also a park on the Maryland side, my understanding is that the Virginia side (where we were) is nicer.
This weekend we're going to the Sweetest Place on Earth. A favorite among the Gerstman clan.
I have 3 special Hershey memories.
1) In 1998 my then 4 year old and I were on an airplane ride and he was at the controls. "Abba" he told me confidently, "if you get scared, I'll bring it lower."
2) Our #4 child is the biggest Hershey fan we have in the family. I think 4 years ago when he was about 1 1/2 he was tuckered out at the end of the outing. I carried him out on my shoulders. Slowly his head drooped down forward in front of me.
3) #4 again. 2 years ago an aunt and uncle allowed us to use their cabin in the Poconos. When we approached the interchange for Hershey he asked if we were going there. (He used to spend all winter asking when we would be going to Hershey.)
So little or no blogging til Tuesday. Must be careful not to say that too loudly, voices carry.
